The trickiest part has actually proven to be getting smooth curves. A fellow DA-er suggested a method, but I've been so busy with school I haven't had time for any non-essential Flash work (ie. stuff that doesn't have a client waiting for it). But that will soon be over, and I'll fix this puppy up!! lol After working with Flash for as long as I have, it wasn't that hard to make. In fact, I finished version 1 in less than a day, according to my records. But I did devote much of my time to:
A) Transparencies and levels -keeping the pen and shadow on top of the lines -getting the right shadow effect -(in v2) proper transparency of the blue pen (you can see the lines through it)
B) Pen movement -semi-realistic pen tilt when moving left/right/up/down, or any combination. -proper shadow angle to go along with pen movement
C) (in v2) Undo capability
I hope to make version 2.1 better with smoother lines and curves, but also the ability to save, load, and possibly share drawings. I see lots of good ol' fashion wasted time waiting to be had with this project, and I can't wait!!! lol (Note the non-sarcasm here)
sorry for the late reply man, got busy with all these work crap. whoah! i salute people like you! it just proves it that with hardwork and dedication, it is possible to conquer limitations..
what i like most about what you did is that: > the pen movement is smooth and in realtime. (synchronizes well with the ink it creates) > over-all its neat and very COOL! i had lots of fun making sketches.. its just bad that i don't have a stylus pen.. but overall, it really amazes me BIG TIME!
and by the way, no prob on the fave! its really worth it!
